Insider guide
Shopping U Village.
The story
University Village is an open-air center at 2623 NE University Village St, between 25th Ave NE and NE 45th St just east of the University of Washington, with more than 120 shops, restaurants and services along landscaped walkways. Nearly every store shares that one street address, so use the center's directory to find a shop. The mix is national brands such as Apple, Aritzia and RH alongside long-running Seattle independents.
Home and Garden
Four stores cover the home. RH Gallery has furniture, lighting, textiles, bath and outdoor pieces, plus baby and child furnishings. Room & Board works with American artisans on custom pieces and says over 90 percent of its products are handcrafted in the US. Crate and Barrel fills two floors with furniture, tabletop and kitchen goods, and has a bridal registry and custom upholstery with a fabric library. Ravenna Gardens, founded here in 1998, sells plants, pots and outdoor decor for Northwest gardens, plus houseplants.
Clothing and Jewelry
Aritzia sells its in-house women's labels, Sézane brings the Paris label's essentials plus its Octobre Éditions menswear and Petit Sézane kids' lines, and Margaret O'Leary sells knitwear in luxurious yarns. Free People has beauty and intimates sections. Clare V., the Los Angeles brand known for colorful Italian-leather handbags, is tagged by the center as only at U Village locally. Village Maternity has sold maternity clothes and baby gifts here since 1983.
Catbird opened its Brooklyn jewelry studio here in April 2026, with handmade everyday pieces in ethically sourced gold. TWIST, locally owned for more than 20 years by a former potter and weaver, carries fine and fashion jewelry from contemporary designers. Timeworks, from the family-run Ben Bridge company, sells watches from prestige brands. Apple has its full product line, Today at Apple sessions and Genius Bar support.
Gifts and Food to Take Home
Several gift shops here are Seattle companies. Fran's Chocolates has made handmade chocolates since 1982, and glassybaby sells small colored glass pieces that work as votives, cups or vases, a popular host gift. Fireworks features Northwest artists, with jewelry, barware and kids' clothing. Paper Source carries Japanese and Lokta papers, letterpress cards and gift wrap, and The Confectionery, family-owned for almost 40 years, stocks gummies, sours, licorice and truffles. Pasta & Co. sells ready-to-heat soups, entrées and frozen lasagnas to take home. For a sit-down meal, Din Tai Fung, Seattle's first branch of the Taiwanese dumpling house founded in Taipei in 1958, is in the center.
