Seattle Pacific University's main address is 3307 Third Ave W in North Queen Anne, and the campus bookstore sits on West Bertona across from the Student Union Building. There is no light rail station at SPU, so students shop by bus or car: in Fremont for groceries, vintage, books and the Sunday market, and in Ballard for record stores, an independent bookshop and a year-round farmers market.

The SPU Bookstore (310 W Bertona St), across from the Student Union Building, carries textbooks, SPU clothing and Falcon gear, gifts, cards and everyday items. SPU's own pages list different hours, so check the bookstore's page on spu.edu before you go.

PCC Community Markets (600 N 34th St) in Fremont is Seattle's community-owned natural foods co-op, with organic and local produce, sustainably raised meat and seafood, a deli, artisan bread, and beer and wine. Fred Meyer in Ballard (915 NW 45th St) is a one-stop shop for groceries and household items. On Sundays, the Ballard Farmers Market runs year-round from 9am to 2pm on the cobblestone stretch of Ballard Ave NW between 20th Ave NW and NW Market St, and accepts EBT/SNAP, WIC, Fresh Bucks and cards. Check each store's website for hours.

Vintage, Books and the Sunday Market

The Fremont Sunday Market (3401 Evanston Ave N) has run year-round since 1990, with more than 150 vendors selling crafts, clothing, art, vintage, imports and food, Sundays 10am to 4pm. Fremont Vintage Mall (3419 Fremont Pl N) is a basement of vendor booths with band tees, leather jackets, vintage Levi's, records and home decor. Ophelia's Books (3504 Fremont Ave N), open since 1997, sells used and new books daily noon to 7pm and buys paperbacks in good condition, and Portage Bay Goods (621 N 35th St) has cards, puzzles, Seattle souvenirs and work by local artists.

On Stone Way, Brooks Trailhead (3400 Stone Way N) is Brooks Running's store at its headquarters, with a run club and shoe trials, and evo Seattle (3500 Stone Way N) covers ski, snowboard, skate and bikes, with rentals and tuning. Up the hill, Daybreak Records (4323 Fremont Ave N) sells used vinyl and stays open until 9pm Monday to Saturday. Our Fremont page has more.

On NW Market St, Secret Garden Books (2214 NW Market St) is an independent bookstore with books and gifts for all ages, a monthly book club and author events, and Sonic Boom Records (2209 NW Market St) sells new and used vinyl, CDs and cassettes with a focus on indie music, and buys used records. Our Ballard shopping walk covers the boutiques along Ballard Ave NW.

In Fremont. RockCreek Seafood & Spirits (4300 Fremont Ave N) is a two-story seafood restaurant styled like an urban fishing lodge, with a patio and an upstairs loft. It takes reservations, serves dinner daily from 4pm and does brunch Saturday and Sunday 9am to 2pm.

With parents. Ray's Boathouse (6049 Seaview Ave NW), the Ballard waterfront seafood institution that SPU lists for visitors, looks out over Puget Sound and the Olympics; the reservable Boathouse dining room is open daily 5pm to 9pm and the more casual Cafe upstairs daily 11:30am to 9pm. For a bigger occasion, Canlis (2576 Aurora Ave N) is the Canlis family's celebrated Northwest fine-dining room, known for its service, wine list and views, with live piano every evening; jacket preferred, and reservations are booked online.

Bus. King County Metro route 4 runs to W Nickerson St at SPU through the Queen Anne business district and downtown, and route 13 also links SPU with the Queen Anne business district and downtown. A covered stop on W McGraw St at 2nd Ave W serves both. For Fremont and the University District, transfer along Nickerson to routes 31 and 32; Link light rail runs from the U District and University of Washington stations.

Parking. Visitors driving in park in the tiered lot entered from W Dravus St (Building 45 on the campus map). Spaces without numbers are open to visitors; numbered spaces are for students.
